The Zalkin is an assault rifle.

Description[edit | edit source]

The kett Zalkin rifle is a mainstay among kett forces. The semi-automatic weapon releases its plasma-surrounded projectiles in a three-round burst—a feature which earned the weapon its name, roughly translated as "three stars".

The single-player stats shown on this page are baseline: Initiative I armor, no skill points assigned, no profile active.

Patch 1.08 removed the charge up feature of the Zalkin. The fire mode is three-shot burst only.

The following augmentations cannot be applied to the Zalkin during development:

It is advised not to apply the Electrical Conduits augmentation to the Zalkin due to an automatic firing problem. (See here for details.)

As the Zalkin is already a burst-fire weapon by default, do not apply the Burst Fire System augmentation to this weapon during development. This only wastes an augmentation slot.

The Zalkin Tier I uses the Common resource Silicon. Zalkin Tiers II-X use the Common resource Beryllium.

The mission Temporary Crafting Quest can be acquired and completed at the same time by developing a Zalkin I at any research center. This mission never appears anywhere other than the Completed Missions section of the Journal with a New Item Icon.png symbol.

The multiplayer stats shown are accurate as of Multiplayer Update - November 7, 2018.

All multiplayer specialized variant weapons are separate weapons compared to the Uncommon version.

Due to the different versions of the Zalkin in multiplayer, it is possible to equip multiple versions at the same time in the Loadout screen.
