Random Comments and Remarks[edit source]

That APEX Tactics bonus thing just got weirder. I picked up Grey Market Connections (prices) and Market Dominance (inventory) and the APEX Tactics bonus amounts shot up. I mean, went from 17 and 15 on a base of 44 to 101 and 90 on a base of 45. The base amounts vary and tend to increase with Ryder's level. The bonus amounts are totally screwy. I picked those for examples because in the real world 44 and 45 are very close together. (I'm getting punchy. Maybe I should eat something.) --Blazedspawn (talk) 03:04, 26 September 2018 (UTC)

More data. This is absurd: I added Ears to the Ground (20% chance to receive weapons or armor when an APEX mission is completed). The credits rewards for both APEX Tactics perks have dropped to something close to ration, though not 15%. Pets Page

The infowall is actually pretty cool. I should check on it every so often as the game progresses. Ryder's vacation eligibility never gets any closer, but there are different Nexus status updates and it welcomes the survivors of Leusinia and Paarchero, and says something about the loss of Natanus. Took this on Habitat 7. If I recall correctly (didn't make a note), this is what you see if you try to head to the next step before finishing off the kett at the second shuttle. Looking at the page for Vetra's "Thank you." email, I'm also wondering if the infobox image should be smaller and the individual images a bit bigger. I'm a little bothered by the disambig taking up space at the top. Library of Codexes[edit source]

I've reviewed the comms sections of LoC's pdf (HNS entries, Crew Info Board, Datapads, Emails, and Notes). I've ignored everything else. Codex entries and system scans aren't worth checking; it's not hard to get what we need from the final game update.

At the beginning of the section on datapads, emails and notes, suggesting that they might not actually exist and they might not have any idea where they are located in the game world.

"These entries were parsed from Mass Effect: Andromeda's internal game files. Due to the way in which the internal text is stored Library of Codexes is unable to guarantee 100% accuracy or completion. However, most appear to be accurate so it was decided to include them."

I've never thought to put in data patterns, probably because Wagnike and Alianin didn't. I'll start keeping track of those--they're actually kind of interesting.

It's a reference for potential items but without in-game proof, then we don't include until we find them. Having a list of potential very likely ones here is a good idea. --GS877 (talk) 03:39, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
The reference PDF is missing things. Your Remnant Kernel article is NOT in the PDF. (I saw a couple of others last night). I checked by title as well as a couple of keywords and it didn't show up. This means that at best it is a snapshot of the game at some point. Thanks. I did notice. They don't have the complete text for Scratch Pad - Login: Chief Engineer Cain Fawkes, which is a fun read. I don't know if it's an issue with file extraction or changes. These should be relatively easy; just return to the Nexus in between tasks.

Eos. Most of my Ryders say Eos. I've one or two overbearing jerks who've said "lock her up on the Nexus." The story hasn't shown after either decision. And the content says the baby was born on a shuttle in space, which may, technically, be true, if she didn't actually finish giving birth until they left Voeld's gravity. But there's no mention of the Roekaar or the kett, and they haven't been shy about mentioning them before. --Blazedspawn (talk) 08:20, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
I saw DeldiRe put it up on the other wiki so I trust that he saw it at some point but I don't know when/where. He's really good about documenting those types of things in the ME franchise. I don't have a way to contact him unless he pops into the wiki here and sets up an account. (He responded here from two different IP's in Belgium so I don't know which one is his main account. Terminal entries and Datapads[edit source]

I'm pretty sure some of these were disabled, or never enabled--there's no good place to put the ones that are obviously, if you read them, written by the Jaardan. Some seem to be related to breaking up with a romantic partner, or turning them down, or something. Some are translated kett messages, including one that is in there as untranslatable except for the title. (I don't remember if I put it on the list or not.)

Some of the entries in the Codex are clearly not correct--mislabeled text, like Brynn Kemper's log text with Ella Menkov's audio log title and vice versa, and the message for Grel labeled as "Camp Message."

Some of them probably require Ryder to be neglectful, like the ones from Lexi about not checking on the twin. I didn't find What gives, kid? until Lev, or maybe Eytan, who was a complete ass, blew Drack off until everything was pretty much over.

I think you're probably right about the Salvage Team logs. Somebody's going to have to examine all the planets, on foot, step by step, every crevice and corner. I have to pick a good name for that Ryder, something that means "Mule" or "Stubborn" or something like that. --Blazedspawn (talk) 04:23, 9 September 2018 (UTC)

A number of items above look like continuations of other datapads. Log: Continuing Botany Analysis looks like another part of Log: Botany Analysis. I suspect that there are a bunch of bodies/destroyed stuff around Site 1 and Site 2 related to them. Samantha Bristol's body is away from them but near the lake. There must be other stuff around that lake and those failed outposts. Just far enough away that unless you go looking, you don't find it. A lot of the datapad names sound like stuff related to those destroyed outposts. --GS877 (talk) 17:08, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
Turns out that a large number of these are on screen scroll prompt on the left with the name of the entry like "A message home: Unsent" that appear without any message showing up. These happen when interacting with terminals, datapads, and other items like bodies. There may or may not be an audio conversation with SAM or a squadmate. The names of the author likely mean that the items are around a specific place like Site 1 or Site 2 but these are being found all over the place. --GS877 (talk) 23:04, 28 October 2018 (UTC)

So I'm guessing that the last log is on Eos. Two on Kadara, one each on Elaaden, H-047c, and Voeld. That leaves Aya, which isn't possible, Havarl, which is unlikely, and Eos, which is unlikely because of radiation, but possible. Of course, it could still be on Elaaden or Voeld. You keep assuming and you know you're gonna find it on Kadara. :) Eos or Havarl make sense. It was someone's pet project and so they are really making you work for this little story.. The got you hooked and so they want you to explore all of the planets. I wouldn't be surprised if there is another one out there beyond the missing one. As we know, Liam Kosta is a bit of hothead. His words after Ryder detains Verand and tells him she was right suggest that the romance is dead, but he cools off later, and Verand told him she understood the decision. "Verand's a realist. She accepts why you kept her. Bradley's made her welcome. She might even stay on." The option to continue during Liam Kosta: Community still occurs, and Getting serious., which is the email before Liam Kosta: Something for Us, still arrives. Excellent info to have. It seems like they built a way into every mission so that you can't fail. (The Sesame Street solution) Neutron bombed aya? Avela will still love you. Killed Cora's flowers on Eos? Colored a pretty picture of asari and you get sexy time.
It's a cop out when they do that. Adult gamers understand consequences. You can't get out of everything. ME1 you pick 1 person to die. That person is dead for the next 2 games. That is a rough game play but it makes the story. It's ok though to put story and gameplay second because I can still see ALIEN SEXY TIME!!! :) --GS877 (talk) 18:03, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
Except Liam isn't an alien. :-) I'm not sure if it's true to Liam's character or not. He's an idealist, so he could just say, "screw it, she's not perfect, I'm done." He doesn't follow through on the breakup because he cools off and sees Ryder's point of view through Verand's eyes. He could just as easily have gone with, "okay, I get it, but I can't continue this romance."
Kesh isn't a love interest, but she can get sufficiently pissed off at Ryder that she won't let Drack tell Ryder about her clutch. Drack isn't a love interest, so there's no good way to gauge how pissed he gets. I don't think I've seen him not invite Ryder to drinks at Kralla's. And Eytan tried pretty hard to piss him off.
Seems the adult version of romance they picked for this one is the inevitability of cheating. Keri T'Vessa really doesn't care if you've committed to someone else. If you've been flirting long enough, and I'm no longer sure how long that is, meeting her at the bar means going back to her place. That one really bugs me. There was a long "discussion" on EA's bug reports about it. Some … individual … said it was unreasonable to ask for the option to turn her down. Something about real life. I need to test it. :-p Ziva flirted, then changed her mind when we decided she needed the Lover's Leap mod. Okay, we need the mod, I decided she should get it. :-) Anyway, Keri offered to break it off or wait and seems to have accepted Ziva's decision to stop.
The "lasting consequences" of Ryder's decisions can be subtle. Most have no impact on the final battle. In fact, the only permanent poor outcome I can think of at the moment is allowing Avitus Rix to choose not to become the turian Pathfinder. If you don't pick up the rest of the pathfinders before Meridian: The Way Home, Dunn will die there. If you get them after that, she'll be resurrected and her remains will disappear from Govorkam. True story.
I think someone must have a soft spot for romance. It's not as though there are no moral or ethical leanings in the rest of the game. Mind Games, Making an Impression, and maybe the "don't make the Pathfinder a drug dealer" reasoning for breaking Task: Running a Fever (if that's what happened). Though there are no repercussions for letting Ruth Bekker die, or martyring Akksul.
I don't know. I just like that I can shoot kett all day long without feeling bad. (Stopping Mashal from torturing the kett on Voeld is about Mashal, not about the kett, really.) --Blazedspawn (talk) 19:56, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
Sorry for the WAY late response. I like playing the game for the game sake. I like collecting and exploring and the combat. It's the mix that makes it nice. I wish they had done more exploration details but alas that's done now. The romance is a nice side benefit but it can get in the way after a bit. "WHAT Liam, WHAT!!! Another email??!!! Can't you be sultry and shut the f*** up!!!" Oh, wait. That might sound harsh. :)
It's ok to have open cannibalism from Johan and his gang but can't have a tiny spaced out Ryder for 2 seconds. They have Niath as an addict, so drugs show up. Modern Medicine deals straight up with drugs.
I think someone got in a tizzy about getting high sending some kind of message and they just took the easy route and broke the mission. Or they just had a broken mission and didn't fix it. They had other things to work on. It might have been really involved to fix and someone said don't touch it.
You can clearly tell there are factions or groups working on this game. They did away with the morality system so that you could try anything. It's hard to make people not like you or lock you out. You get lots of chances (That was a complaint of the other games that one single conversation choice could wreck everything). I know you've stated before that there are things like that in this game but they are few and far between and you clearly know what you are about to do.
You can see the cracks at times and the "personality" of different people who worked on this game. They didn't mesh stuff together completely. It's 95% of the way there but they didn't polish stuff up. You can see the sloppy stuff at times. We've found lots of those kind of things. :) --GS877 (talk) 04:21, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
Oh, yeah, even just the incredible unevenness of the rewards for effort across the missions and tasks tells you there were no standards involved.
It does take a lot of work to make someone not talk to you. Well, Maariko on Aya is easy: just tell him the truth and he'll never speak to you again. And if you're persistent you can get Kesh to at least listen long enough to hand over Vorn's flower. But you don't get to see the eggs if you piss her off enough. And Drack won't cross her.
I should have been a software tester. I should be a software tester. Paid, rather than paying. :-) I'm good at breaking things. Actually, considering that I've tried doing the missions in some fairly irrational orders, they've done a good job with adjusted dialogue and lore. On the other hand, the number of people who remark on how cool it is to have the vault active while you're still risking heatstroke on Elaaden is annoying. And Reyes still talks as though Sloane is still in power. (I think, I haven't tried that lately.) But Cora's email about Khi Tasira is different if you haven't done Foundation yet.
I do wish they'd done more with the outposts. It seems as though there ought to be more terminal entries and datapads, and conversations with people. I'm mixing games with the links but they both use the same type of mapping systems. The Skyrim one is more detailed. The designers made the later games more expansive. (Just wanted you to see what someone used for a mapping system).

I thought something like this as a small example of a table but you can rip this design apart any way you like.

You could also create a set of tables. One for each "Orphan" RD item. That way you could have multiple pictures and not have to squish the table trying to make them fit. Side note: The pics don't match up but look at the description underneath each one to see what I was going for. I just grabbed pics from a page of yours that I knew had the map and the close up view (these are from the journey to meridian)

Maybe a small cropped overhead in-game map snapshot would get you close to the spot and you could give a small text description of the exact item / location. Like you mentioned to myself, follow the minerals down into the sinkhole. You have to wait until after the vault though or you get burned to a crisp.

Hey Blazedspawn, I found an orphan item on Voeld. I figured I would create a list of the orphan items. Feel free to put strikethrough on the items as they are added to the Orphan page. That way the completed ones will be known.

  • - At 4:12 you can see the map. The player then travels on a little bit more to the north and lying in a snow crater is a Kett Core Encryption Tech (4:53). -- 23:48, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

  • There is an Adapted Initiative Core Tech in a building containing a hidden cache. There isn't a mission in this building and isn't the easiest to describe.   • Potential Adapted Initiative Core Tech - I found this while watching a vid of Task: What he would have wanted. - At 1:41 you can see what looks like an AICT next to the yellow vehicle and the pile of rocks. This is in the Outland Spire region. At 1:34 you can see on the map where the nomad is located. They then drive off the cliff and head to the west. That's when you see what looks like the device. There is no other mission in this area (except the task but that's way up on cliff above and quite far away). I can't scan it to see if it is an AICT or if it just another background object like other missions on this planet have (There are beacons that look like that at each of the emergency muster points for Doesn't Add Up.   • ARCD on Havarl - - At 8:12 you can see the scan. Ryder goes to the Chasm of the Builders Forward station. Ryder climbs up and then travels south along the wall, turns west heads west over to the other side of the wall and then hugs that wall. When the video continues, Ryder heads north into the Remnant Abyss. So it seems like that wall in the red box.

When they move off to that structure and then pop back it throws it off some of my orientation but it seemed to make sense with what they did after that. And you can tell that was just a luck find. They saw the ping in the left corner and went "What is that?". Plus it's on its side and mostly buried. (This is not the same AITN found during A Dying Planet near that same location. That one is between two rock columns closer to the bridge - This one is next to 3 solar heaters) - Nope. Kadara has been sparse so far. Only found these two- or I'm missing them. The kurinth's valley might be the architect one - No remnant structures are there yet and I haven't run that mission yet. No outpost either. So I'll check again when that mission runs to see if this is that same one or if there is another ARCD that appears.

It's the same one. I got a pic without the Remnant pillar. There's also an ARCD at the Task: Cold Hard Cache site, down near the pools, and an AITC east of the Draullir monolith entrance. I thought about putting a note on that page about all the non-interactable characters. Not the characters so much as the things they say to each other. Overheard conversations, like the exchange between the Cultural Center Liaison and the angaran head diplomat about gender pronouns. Or this, caught by Lev on his way through the Common Area:
Aya Citizen: But it was too late. A hideous thundering! A burst of fire! And Jaanene's ship crashed onto the barren world.
Doctor Camden: You can't call a new species "the murder potato"!
Vorn: Even if we're the only people in this galaxy whod know what it meant?
Aya Citizen: All that remained to Jaanen was his broken ship... and the mysterious crate the merchant had told him never to open.

I think the Aya Citizen is telling a story at open mic "night" in the Vortex. The game creates a sense of urgency in so many places, it can be hard to remember to slow down and listen to things that aren't mission-related. Moved from resistance HQ - at 00:03 you can see Ryder interacting with the Ancient AI. You have to keep the AI and give to the Angara during Uncovering the Past. Supposedly this choice helps for the final battle in Meridian: The Way Home as well. -- I suppose I'll have to check that out--maybe run the end of whichever Ryders let it live. Casual Outfits Menu Pics[edit source]

Hey Blazedspawn,

I was wondering if you could get updated menu pictures/new menu pictures for the each of the casual outfit pages like Alianin uploaded in early march 2017? (Three pages have great pics in the top right corner of the full menu of Casual Outfits). These only have the three outfits showing for the selections where you would have the 5 outfits (based on your deluxe/super deluxe edition). Plus the screens might have changed since she uploaded those versions in march 2017 (patches and all of the added stuff in deluxe/super deluxe editions)

On a side note, do the 3 non-deluxe outfits have a text description associated with them? I saw that you had added the hoodie description which seems to make sense from memory. Nobody wants to wear their uniform 24/7. Whether you're relaxing aboard the Tempest or exploring a friendly space dock, this casual outfit will help you look your best. I can't confirm the athletic one off hand though. The other three elude me as well and I can't check that info like I mentioned before.

Side note - Can you check the Wardrobe menu pics to see that they still match for casual outfit and armor? It looks like these are early Alianin images as well. Excellent images, I just don't know if BioWare started changing stuff for no reason. I can't confirm that they didn't fiddle with the menus. NOOOOO, they would never do that. Gallery time! Well, not yet. I'm still working on the pics. The gallery images on the casual outfits show pretty clearly, I think, where each outfit color goes on each outfit. I'm thinking I could do something similar for some of the armors. That gallery should go on the Wardrobe page--I can't see it going on the armor pages.
I've changed the pictures on the casual outfits pages--it's the same picture as the first in the gallery, just larger.
I haven't seen a description of the default outfits. I'd try out several of the planets. You never know what will look the best. Elaaden with sand dunes from Hells Promise or Sea of Ataraxia in the northeast. Maybe an Eos over looking the presson dunes. Maybe one with some of the sink holes or hoodoos from the Gehenna Valley. Maybe even a voeld with the night sky / aurora glowing. It's so hard to say what will look the best. Sometimes you just have to try some and see what you get. We've got lots of parking pics, which is fun. I should put up the one of the Nomad "parked" in the crevasse at Ja Niihk. I should also see if I kept any of the pics of it "parked" in New Tuchanka. Not in front of it or at the back gate, but on those support frames inside the sinkhole.

The one of the damaged Nomad is from letting it get shot at. I'll see what else I can get--maybe something from running over a mine. I need to video some of this, but my video recording is unpredictable. Sometimes I say, "Hey, start recording," and it says, "Recording has been saved." Um, what recording? Could you get a pic of the following skills in use? A full screen pic with all of the HUD is ok. I'm looking to have a pretty pic on the Combat skill, Biotic skill, and Tech skill pages with one of the skills in use. I tried to pick some that would actually show something pretty/obvious.

Flamethrower - Seems easy to show a bunch of fire unless you want to try an Assault Turret or maybe Remnant VI. You can do a cryo beam if you can get a bunch of stuff freezing in your face. Hazard Icons[edit source]

Hey Blazedspawn,

I'm putting a reminder here about possibly getting a 1920X1028 pic of the screen when a hazard is impacting. I'd like to add the icon either from the life support bar area or if the center of the screen looks better, that one. I'd like if we could, to get a dark color or a color that makes the icon stand out. Matching colors if possible for the background but that may not be possible. I know that will be tough for some to get them. I have some thoughts on how to get some of the odd ones. The toxic and the electric without getting killed immediately. I should go to bed though. I didn't respond back when you wrote this but now that I read it, what you mean by "still looking for a piece"?
Some emails have multiple versions of the text depending on Ryder's relationship with the sender and on choices Ryder made about something, or sometimes on timing. The Thank you from Cora Harper is an example. The content depends on whether Ryder is romancing Cora and what decision is made about Sarissa during Cora Harper: At Duty's Edge. Specifically, I need the content that goes with romancing Cora and choosing Vederia as the new asari Pathfinder. --Blazedspawn (talk) 02:41, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
I was reading sections for cleanup and I found this one. I think it would be ok to create the partial page with the pieces that you do have for the emails in question. We could then put a stub on the top and maybe add a note in the notes section "This email is in process and can changed based upon in game choices."

The only Tempest email I could find in my files that I hadn't put up at all is an email from Reyes, For what it's worth.... I'm not even sure if there's a matching one for Scott, or if it would be an entirely different title. There are so many factors with a follow-up after High Noon. Even if you side with Sloane, there's still the question of whether or not you fired at Reyes. I should figure out what the combinations are and see if I can match emails to possibilities.

  • I've been keeping links out of the text of datapads and terminal entries, sort of an aesthetic thing.
No problem. If it was a link to a location page, I added those when I was making those pages. I did a full search and added them wherever I found them. Most pages already had links on the pages for the usual stuff. Nexus, Tempest, other links that show up in the top sentence before the text so those are always taken care of. If I happened to see something that it would be helpful to find a page during my searches, I added it. Mainly I only fixed what I was there to add. I take no offense to you undoing changes. Group effort. :) I was searching jump-jet and seeing if all places had the link (it was only 5-10 pages so it was a quick search). AutoWikiBrowser. It's a tool for making those little edits that happen on multiple pages, like changing the link or changing categories--that's how I recategorized all the weapon images from category weapon to category weapon images. I set up the bot months ago, but just figured out (with lots of handholding from River on Slack) how to make it work. I'm not sure, but it may be possible to update the infoboxes on the weapons pages that don't have the firearms infobox yet. I'll look into that.
It also offers to do little cleanup things, like taking out extra spaces and unnecessary links (like the link to a page on that page, something that happens in the upgrade lists on weapons). --Blazedspawn (talk) 04:20, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

  • Some datapad sets, like the Roekaar Manifestos, have a fixed order of finding and fixed locations of the datapads, but the two aren't connected. Some sets have fixed locations and can be found in any order (End of Watch). Some have fixed order and random locations (Task: Kadara's Ransom).
Nope, you are right. I didn't pick up on that before with those datapads. Location is fixed, order is fixed UNLESS you go out of order (because you know where they are ahead of time or on accident) then that one is the first one. That's just sloppy game design again in my opinion. I get that they are trying to make you go from 1-6 in order. If you stumble on accident on number 4, then it should be number 4 (not number 1). They should just have programmed the chars to say "That's odd, this story doesn't make sense. I should find the first one..." or yada yada. That way you know it's out of order. Quick simple. Rarity sort on weapons tables[edit source]

What do you think of setting it up to sort the rarity column by rarity rather than alphabetically? Um, I don't understand. Don't we already have a rarity column that is configured as a sortable column on each table?
Or do you want to change the first column from alphabetical to rarity? - Carnifex, Charger, Equalizer -> Charger (Common), M-3 Predator (Common), Carnifex (Uncommon)
Or do you want to modify the rarity value (using your sorting trick) so that when you sort by rarity, it sorts Common (1), uncommon (2), rare (3), ultra rare (4) instead of the alphabetical way - Common, rare, ultra rare, and Uncommon.

I was thinking of using data-sort value to make the rarity column sort as Common, Uncommon, Rare, Ultra Rare, rather than Common, Rare, Ultra Rare, Uncommon. But, except for the Pathfinder weapons, the number of augmentations matches rarity, so sorting by number of augmentations has the same effect, and doesn't confuse people expecting words to sort alphabetically. Special Items Tables On Special Items Page[edit source]

The resource icons on the crafted special items table aren't lining up properly. I tried sticking a break in between the two resources, which makes them line up, but there's no space between the icons. --Blazedspawn (talk) 01:20, 15 October 2018 (UTC)

Closer. Changing the relative column widths and leaving the overall width makes a difference--I did a quick check with column widths at 1%, 13%, 30%, 16%, and 18%, with overall width back to 90%. That gives me half the screen, which is enough for a show I've seen three times. (It's like background music, only it works better for me.) Okay, that's not necessarily the best criterion for formatting wiki pages. :-) But it does cover the multitasking thing. Have you ever come across the following hazard levels?

  • Cold Level 3 & 4
  • Electrical 1 & 2
  • Heat Level 2
  • Radiation Level 2 & 4
  • Toxic Level 1 & 3

I could make a guess at the heat one but I'd rather see it actually in game. I've seen or found areas that give all of the other hazard values but those ones have eluded me. If I knew where they were, I wouldn't be asking you. BAHAHAHA! "Give me an idea where they are..." Um, that was my question.
The standard ones that always pop are easy. The weird ones I just see in videos sometimes. Heat 3 was in a deep crater on Elaaden when this guy drove into it on accident. I was like "What was that! That was a heat 3. Never seen heat 3." Toxic 2 is in Kadara slums and Habitat 7 (both are green sludge). Electric 3 was when someone walked into a scourge filament or a ferrofluid pool and it didn't kill the person right away. I was like that's a hazard 4 you should be dead. When I went frame by frame, I saw it was a 3. That was in The Journey to Meridian I think. Heat 4 is lava during Peebee's last mission. There is also a fire right before the primus kill switch portion of the last mission that hits you hard as heat 4. I think the fire during Cora's loyalty mission does that as well.
I figure they programmed them in I just haven't seen them in odd places. Maybe you hit one on accident like that crater on Elaaden.
I figure that Rad is on Eos. Maybe a weird spot on H-047 might do it.
Heat is easy to guess because it's likely 10 degrees C above level 1 and 10 below level 3. I can't guess the rad or tox because of the way the units work. I might be able to guess an extra 10 degrees colder for cold but I don't dare on that one because you just don't know what they were thinking. --GS877 (talk) 08:54, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
Sorry. Brain. I haven't noticed most of the hazard levels, probably because I either avoid them or I'm too busy trying to get away. :-p I'll try recording and being reckless and see what I can find out. Might wait until another start, so I can check out Habitat 7. That place is dangerous!
  • Cold 3 & 4: might be some of the more remote or higher areas on Voeld before the vault reset. Maybe places that come down to Cold 2 afterward.
  • Electrical 1 & 2: Not sure--maybe the ferrofluid pools around the vault entrances.
  • Heat 2: probably some of the higher points on Elaaden before the reset.
  • Radiation 1 & 2: Eos after the vault, before it takes full effect?
  • Toxic 1 & 3: Not sure, but the geysers on Kadara are still toxic after reset. I'll see if I can get a pic.
Sinkholes on Elaaden pre-vault reset are Heat 3. I haven't noticed any residual heat in the ones you can drive into afterward. Anything big enough just drops you out of the world.

Findings[edit source]

  • Toxic 4 - yes, Toxic 4. TOXICITY: 819 LD50. Kadara, the lake outside the Port, before the vault reset. Pic on my sandbox, below the melee weapons.
    • I have seen that one before for toxicity on Kadara (same spot actually). The level 4's tend to vary more than other hazards. I've seen 818 for that one. Trouble is that level 2 is ~50. So I don't know how much variability at Level 4 is to be expected with that weird unit of measure. LD50 really? It's an accurate unit of measure but I've never seen it in a video game before. They focus on the strangest stuff. Level 4's you get about half a second to know you hit it, then the other half second kills you. It's usually a "oh f*ck, JUMP, JUMP!!! and if you're lucky you stay alive but hurt bad. Otherwise you get to load your latest save. That toxic damage is just as bad to the Nomad as well on Kadara. I've only ever been able to see the numbers in detail by video so you can slow it down because they are so lethal.
  • Toxic 2 - - At 17:52 in the Kadara Slums you can see Level 2 when Ryder walks through the stream. --GS877 (talk) 20:23, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
    • I know that the cave on Habitat 7 where you find Greer has toxic 2 ooze on the floor and then another area near the place where you meet up with dad before jumping through has a toxic ooze pipe that's level 2 as well.
  • Electric 3 - At 9:03 she walks into a scourge tendril on Eos for a long time and you get a clear pic of the purple color and the level 3 damage. This is located to the west-southwest of Site 1. (At 5:51 you can see the area she is in) Normally you only see that kinda stuff hitting at level 4. Ferrofluid pools and scourge tendrils. I happened across this vid a few days ago. I saw a Ferrofluid pool hit at 3 one time and it was really odd. Should have been an instant dead but didn't happen. So some of them are different for some reason. You may know of another place that has a good level 3 electric. I figured you would be a able to get a good pic of this for the Hazard page and it was close to a known location not in a vault. Electric is a tough one because it normally just kills you. :)
  • Electric 1 - GOT IT! Looks like a glitch but it shows that the numbers are programmed into the system for the other levels. - At 18:19 she leaves the Tiller dome and it starts showing in Electric 1 instead of Rad 1. So Electric 1 is ~24,396 mA. I've seen this one other time for this planet but I never paid attention to if the number showed up. It just started in the middle of a drive to somewhere showing as electric. The number is right inline with what it should be. ~10,000 for safe, 24,000 for 1, 240,000 for 3 and 750,000 for 4. I'm updating the scourge page as the electric damage page and will do the links all up correctly. --GS877 (talk) 02:02, 20 October 2018 (UTC)

I didn't watch the whole video, so I can't be sure, but I'm guessing at some point she went wading in the ferrofluid around the vault on the surface. Ranit did that and got the Electrical Discharge 1 on leaving the dome. It lasted for the rest of the time they were on H-047c. Everything that's usually Radiation 1 was Electrical Discharge 1. Going into the vault and down the gravity well didn't do it, though Ranit had already activated the Tiller, so I couldn't check that. Yes, she went into the pool in the previous vid. You can even see the blue glow on Ryder but no hazard hit happens. - At 7:54 you can see this happen. Do you think we should add a glitch note to the main H-047c page and the mission page for The Remnant Tiller? I know in a later vid she gets rid of the electric (I think after she plays vetra's mission and exits the building - Yes, it does fix at that point I watched a later vid.) I don't think that difficulty changes the time for depletion. I haven't studied it though and online research is iffy at best.
Difficulty level does affect the depletion of life support in the Nomad. Time to depletion on Insanity is 60% of the time on Normal. (Or time to depletion is reduced by 40%.) --Blazedspawn (talk) 21:50, 15 December 2018 (UTC)

Elaaden: Tests on Nomad Supplemental Life Support.

I ran two tests, one in a sinkhole near New Tuchanka, one in a sinkhole near the Paradise.

First test: Without the upgrade, time from entering the Heat Hazard 3 zone to mission failure screen was 217 seconds. Within that time, life support went red at 18 seconds and was depleted at 23 seconds.

With the upgrade, time from entering the zone to mission failure screen was 222 seconds. Within that time, life support went red at 21 seconds and was depleted at 28 seconds.

Second test: Without the upgrade, time from entering the zone to mission failure screen was 216 seconds. Within that time, life support went red at 17 seconds and was depleted at 23 seconds.

With the upgrade, time from entering the zone to mission failure screen was 224 seconds. Within that time, life support went red at 23 seconds and was depleted at 30 seconds. --Blazedspawn (talk) 00:59, 15 December 2018 (UTC)

I'm confused still.
I got the total time. without/with sls - Test 1: 217/222 and Test 2: 216/224 seconds.
Does life support time = total - start of time red? Test 1: 217/222 - 23/28 = 189/194 seconds. Test 2: 216/224 - 23/30 = 193/194?
Time until death is Test 1: 23/28 - 18/21 = 5/7 seconds Test 2: 23/30 - 17/23 = 6/7 seconds

Time from life support full to life support depleted. Test 1, without SLS, 23 seconds; with SLS, 28 seconds. Test 2, without SLS, 23 seconds again; with SLS, 30 seconds. 28/23 = 1.217; 30/23 = 1.304. That's a huge range, but the test is really too short--margin for error is huge. But it does show an advantage to the upgrade.
Sat in the Nomad in the cold for a while, with and without SLS.
Without: 798 seconds from full to depleted. With: 997 seconds from full to depleted. 997/798 = 1.25 (1.249...) That's the 25% increase promised by the upgrade.
I'd say it's more useful on Voeld, because even after the vault is reset, there are hazard 2 areas (I believe), whereas on Elaaden you have to hang out in sinkholes before the vault is reset. I got bored trying to test Heat Hazard 1--after five minutes, life support was only down 1/8.
Kadara's water is so toxic that you die instantly, so it doesn't matter how long the Nomad can take it. Only thing left is H-047c. --Blazedspawn (talk) 04:31, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
Ah, I see now. I think I also see a pattern.
800 seconds to 1000 seconds for Nomad Hazard 2. Nice big round numbers. 1000/800 = 1.25
I think that the Hazard 3 might be 24 seconds and 30 seconds - 30/24 = 1.25 - I'd say the 30 seems to me like someone put that one as the "number" then just reduced by 25% to get the lower one. That's tough to be super exact like you said because it goes quickly. ~24 and ~30 seconds just "feels right". Same for 800 and 1000.
Side note - were you able to get Ryder only for voeld cold 2 & elaaden heat 3? I'm sure it's less for Ryder.
Crap, I just thought of something. Which difficulty setting were you testing with for the above numbers?
Can you bump up to the highest difficulty and run a single test on Voeld in the Nomad & with Ryder only? That way we know we have enough time to differentiate if there is a difference between narrative to insanity. --GS877 (talk) 05:21, 15 December 2018 (UTC)

Hazard Tables[edit source]

Difficulty level influences how long hazards will take to deplete life support and how long until death occurs. The easier the gameplay, the longer the amount of time until life support fails. Once life support fails, health damage occurs until either Pathfinder Ryder dies or the ND1 Nomad explodes. Conversely, the harder, the difficulty, the less time is available.

  • Narrative difficulty is the same amount of time as Normal.
  • Casual difficulty is the same amount of time as Normal.
  • Normal difficulty is the standard amount of time.
  • Hardcore difficulty decreases the amount of time by -25% of Normal. (I'm just putting these 5 BP here as a reminder. Need to numbers to confirm the percentages.
  • Insanity difficulty decreases the amount of time by -40% of Normal.

Life support times are displayed as Narrative, Casual, Normal, Hardcore, and Insanity.

Backup Life Support adds extra time to life support for Level 1 & Level 2 hazards. There is no change to Level 3 hazard time. The time numbers listed in the table are for a single use of the consumable while hazard damage is occurring.

Supplemental Life Support directly increases the life support of the ND1 Nomad for any difficulty. This upgrade increases the amount of time the ND1 Nomad can endure life support depleting conditions before taking health damage.

The next part of the line about ferrofluid and sulfur water being visual, do you mean the screen flashes bright blue for electric or bright green for toxic hazards but the others (Cold / heat / radiation) don't change the overall screen color? I'm pretty sure that the screen flashes red as you take health damage from those items once your life support is gone (even in the Nomad).
I bet that they set it up that way because they didn't want the screen with hazy colors on it when you were on Voeld or Elaaden so you don't have to have your vision reduced.
Heavy radiation turns the screen a yellow color. At 00:08 it's clear then changes to yellow for the Level 3 radiation zone. I did find this video also shows a mission we don't have listed. Extremely Hazardous Area - Return to safe zone Basically it's a "Stop being stupid and go back to the shielded area. I mean it. Right now."
It shows the level 3 area for radiation prior to the vault activation. I never went out of the safe zones on purpose like this person did and I no longer have a game where I can go back and look into the mission in the mission screen to fill out a journal mission/limited journal/etc. (Or even see if it does show up) Do you perhaps have a save for Eos where you can look at the mission screen when this mission is on screen and see if it gives you a mission description? We could then create a quick mission page for this / classify it. Or is this like those silly ghost missions on the Nexus we talked about before that are non-journal?
I mean the ferrofluid and gross green water are easy to identify. You look at say, "Oh, ferrofluid, don't fall in." Or, "Hmm, the water's on fire (though I don't think I've seen that, actually), maybe I shouldn't go swimming." Cold and heat don't have a visual sign. (Not even in real life, which is why dehydration and heat stroke are so easy to come by.)

It was a suggestion Game_widow made to help with the massive size of the talk page. The page was created as Project:Missions and tasks. It's outside the main name space. I figured with the link there it shouldn't be too inconvenient.
She also give me a link to some info about managing tables of contents. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but it seems like it ought to be possible to collapse part of a table of contents, so that we don't have to scroll past the 18 subsection heads if we're not interested in M&T at the moment. Vendor Screens[edit source]

It occurred to me that this is a thing, too. It seems pretty self-explanatory, but there are a few points that might be good to specify.

  • When purchasing resources or consumables, a quantity screen will pop up.
  • When selling a crafted weapon, the stats and details sections will reflect any augmentations or equipped mods, but the price does not. Any mods equipped on a weapon will be returned. Any augmentations are lost.
  • Fusion mods only show under All Items, not under Armor
  • Equipped items cannot be sold (did we say that already somewhere?)

I think that is excellent information to have on the vendor screen. I think all of the ones you listed above should be on the vendor screen.
I added a note to the fusion mod article. I can add notes to all of the weapons/armor/item pages about equipped not selling but it seems a bit overkill. I think that someone will look at the vendor page before looking at the Arms page to try to figure out why they can't sell an equipped arm piece. (I'll totally add it to all of the pages if you think it is warranted).
I don't think that the note about equipped stuff is listed anywhere other than the deconstruct strategies page. (That's the only spot I wrote about not being able to wear your armor / keeping a low grade set of items to swap out with). I did some work on the vendor page with some of the images you uploaded and your bullet points above. I added sections and pics. I used gallery because the two images would go to the right and stay inline. Looks better to me in the middle than right or left. Some of the pics I didn't know about or how to word a section about the pic. Maybe a bit too much detail or they didn't make sense to me or maybe it would confuse someone if I tried to convey the point. Codex - A Crew Like No Other[edit source]

Hey Blazedspawn,

I just ran across something that you may be uniquely able to help with as you have so many Ryder's that have finished the game. (You'll have full and complete codices).

So I was looking at the Codex section Codex#A Crew Like No Other - I realized that these are not fixed like the dossier versions in Codex#Known Associates.

I found this quick vid of a guy looking through his codex for this section - Not complete by any means but an example. At around ~00:45 he starts looking at them. It says to me that the major choices you pick are changing those people and their codex entry. I've seen one other where it is different entries.

Each character let's say Drack - Nakmor Drack#Codex - has a codex section with the fixed section from Known Associates. I was thinking that if you had enough versions of the different choices we could make a subheader under ==Codex== called ===A Crew Like No Other===.

Side note - Now that I think about it, it might get really large and messy on a character page if there are a bunch of versions. Maybe it might be better to create a page "A Crew Like No Other" and have all of the possible character and choices split up by subheaders with the codex pics. Something like you created for The Ties That Bind.

A Crew Like No Other is a set of variable codex entries for major characters. These codex entries differ from the fixed character dossiers found in Known Associates. The content depends on Ryder's choices during missions and conversations with the character in question.

We could then have the fixed codex on the char page and then the text - For the variable Codex section - A Crew Like No Other, see [ [A Crew Like No Other]].

We wouldn't have to change any of the links on the char pages or the codex page (Except for the ones under A Crew Like No Other to the new page but that is pretty simple.)

This isn't a super huge priority at the moment. I'm waiting to create the category - [ [Category:A Crew Like No Other]] to match the other codex cats until we decide if it should go on each page or if we are only going to make 1 main page.

I would match them up to our existing Codex cards (it looks like they just reused them but if I'm wrong let me know). Higher Up Admin Help[edit source]

Hye Blazedspawn,

I just ran across something where I was trying to add the meridian map to the port meridian section. I want to have the pic on the left with the bullet points flow texted around it. I have it mocked up below (not to scale just as an example):

Apparently trying to do this chops off the bullet points or numbered sections. There is a wiki template called "flowlist" that fixes this type of problem but we don't have a version of that template here (not that I can find).

They show the problem perfectly on the link above. I'd use their text to create a new template here using the same exact coding they have but it's not a template like I'm used to. They have something with .css that I have no idea how to use.

I would gladly give credit for the code and make the template but this one is beyond me. I'd really like to have the map on the left side and then be able to list the locations next to it with bullet points howing. (Trying to put it in the center just kicks it above or below the pic so that is out).

Could you ask a question to one of the higher ups who the best person to ask is and if we could get a version of that template here?

I think we will be using this template a lot for our main pages (Kadara, Eos, etc) where we list the main areas and have an imagemap next to it.

Cool. No problem. :) It's only on that one image at the moment. There is only one map for that ship. I think that for places that have multiple maps (like the asari ark) that a gallery is more likely, so that you can click the map you want. With text below each one. Maybe something like a packed mode heights 175px (depending upon the number of images). That way you can find the map you want and we don't have a huge section of giant maps. We've got, or will have, the general controls for keyboard, Xbox, and PS4 on the page, but it occurs to me we could also put some of the context-specific controls up, such as those platform-specific controls for Remnant decryption puzzles. Armor Naming Issues[edit source]

I just noticed that the default name for Tiers V-IX Remnant Arms is Heritage, not Reborn. Ziva hasn't reached Level 80, so I couldn't check Tier X, but I'll bet it has the same problem. The chest, legs and helmet are fine. --Blazedspawn (talk) 04:54, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

I saw this and I wanted to ask a question - Is this the same type of naming error as Maverick Skirmisher Arms IX and Maverick Skirmisher Arms X?
"This tier is incorrectly named on the Development screen as Remnant Heritage Arms X, but the image shows the Maverick Deadeye arms."
I know that it's not a cross family armor problem like the example says above (the image is correct) but a "within the same family" naming problem.
Are you ok with me adding the following note to all of the Remnant Reborn arms affected by the naming error?
"This tier is incorrectly named on the Development screen as Remnant Heritage Arms V. The correct name should be Remnant Reborn Arms V."
I can update the notes pretty quickly but I wasn't sure on the wording if it was just the development screen. I ran a check and I think that only the Deadeye Arms listed above have a naming issue besides the pathfinder weapons bug. --GS877 (talk) 18:11, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
I'm looking at the Development screen for armor. There's a pattern, I think. It doesn't include DSE or Scavenger--those don't have multiple tiers.
Some armor sets have one-word names: HyperGuardian, Initiative, N7, Pathfinder. HyperGuardian and N7 don't have subsets, but their stats do increase with each tier. Those names aren't a problem in the Development screen. The Angaran Guerrilla, Heleus Defender, Kett Fusion, Maverick Skirmisher, and Remnant Heritage sets all include one of the subset names in their set name.
You pick a blueprint, hit enter to craft, and the naming window comes up. For HyperGuardian and N7, the only issue is the usual "everything is armor except helmets" thing. Initiative armor blueprints show the correct subset in the list as well as in the naming box. Pathfinder doesn't show the subset in the list, but it does come up properly in the naming box.
Angaran, Kett, Heleus, Maverick, and Remnant all show the set name in the blueprint list. They show the correct subset name in the naming box, except for the Remnant Reborn arms. I've spot-checked, rather than check every one of a few hundred blueprints, but I'm pretty sure that's the only one that's a problem.
And it's only a problem if you care about the name reflecting the subset. As long as the tier number is there, you know it's the right thing. I tend to rename things to reflect the augmentations--Tek-Commander Chest IX is more informative than ANGARAN COMMANDO ARMOR IX. (It means I packed five Tech Power Damage augs into the item.) I also renamed the Mav Skirmisher chest from MAVERICK SKIRMISHER ARMOR I to MAVERICK SKIRMISHER Chest I. But that's me. :-)
Short answer, it's not named incorrectly on the Development blueprint list, it's just named for the set instead of the subset, like four other sets. The problem is specifically in the naming box. --Blazedspawn (talk) 00:50, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

I found some system pics that don't match your format. It looks like some weren't replaced. You replaced planets pics and named them a certain way. H-047c.png was changed to Remav H-047c.png (or something like that) but I could tell that you had changed the pic.

System pics were changed from Remav.png to Remav System.png. You added system after the name. It looks like some weren't changed or replaced based on the name not containing "System".

Most of these pics look ok but you may have wanted to replace them but never got around to it. I can't tell. Just trying to make sure it is all named the same and is what you wanted. If I don't list a system, I didn't find / see anything not matching.

For example File:Dar'hegah System.png looks just like File:Civki.png and it looks like the same time frame in October. I couldn't tell.

Multiplayer Skill Order[edit source]

I just noticed that the order of skills for the Human Female Engineer and the Human Male Engineer is different in the customization screen than in gameplay. In customization, top to bottom, it runs Cryo Beam, Assault Turret, and Overload. Multiplayer-only missions[edit source]

So I went through the list of APEX missions on the Mass Effect site. And I looked at the other wiki. Not a lot of options, since I didn't want to start the MP tutorial at 2 a.m. :-p

Three of the strike team missions we have here were limited-time MP missions. I've edited the pages to reflect that. I don't want to add all the limited-time missions with their own pages. I'd rather pull them from the nav and add a note on the ST Mission page, with a link to the MP page. But I can't compose one right now, because I'm tired.

Some of the missions we have may be incorrectly listed as Bronze, Silver, or Gold. According to the other wiki, they're platinum mp-only missions. If we can confirm that, we can update the pages and move them to a MP page.

One I can't find anywhere.

Odd Stuff I Found[edit source]

For some reason - there is an acknowledge hexagon on the entry for 349-1. No objectives pinged or anything like that when I clicked it but here was some dialogue after I left the screen - may have been unrelate.

So Aya has viability now? :) I know it's not Kadara that gets 5%. It didn't change. BUT Eos, Voeld, and Havarl are 100% for me so I couldn't see it change. Also, Elaaden isn't unlocked yet - so nothing there.

So I've never seen that before for the symbol. It's not in any other place except that menu. I've seen two curved arrows on one special item but not this symbol.

I found it! It's the symbol on the store menu when the merchant has nothing to sell for that "type" (not all items but on e of the categories). That item is also the one that uses the two curved arrows in the merchant menu. Something just wrong with that item. :)
