Starting Location The Paradise, Elaaden
Mission Location Elaaden

Taming A Desert is a heleus assignments mission. It is acquired upon first landing on Elaaden.

Description[edit | edit source]

Elaaden is an arid, burning desert, but Remnant technology could make conditions more livable for Milky Way species and the angara. The key to doing so is the vault, which can be unearthed by activating the Remnant monoliths scattered about the planet.

The search for Elaaden's monoliths has led to another Remnant vault, which must be activated and reset to change Elaaden's climatic conditions.

Objectives[edit | edit source]

  • Activate Elaaden's monoliths (0/3)
    • Make This Dust Bowl Livable
      • Scan for glyphs (0/3)
      • Activate the monolith
  • Investigate the vault's entrance
  • Activate emergency power
  • Remove the vault's lockdown
  • Escape the purification field and exit the vault

Notes[edit | edit source]

Make This Dust Bowl Livable is the set of objectives given upon approaching each inactive monolith.

Glyphs must be scanned at all three monoliths, but only the Northern Monolith requires solving a Remnant decryption puzzle.

There is a Remnant decryption skill point puzzle in the vault. Solving it yields two skill points. This is one of two puzzles that cannot be overridden with a Remnant Decryption Key.

Research Opportunities[edit | edit source]

Inside the Remnant vault, there are seven Adaptive Remnant Core Devices that can be scanned for +100 Remnant RD each (+700 Remnant RD Total). One is in the gravity well room, two are on the way to the consoles that make the purification vault accessible, three are in the Remnant Data Core room in the northeast corner, and one is high on a ledge on the southern wall.
