There are five types of mod for sniper rifles, each providing a different benefit. For each type, there is one basic mod and two upgrades which provide a greater benefit, but with detrimental effects. Only the basic mods are available at the first tier in singleplayer.

Barrel[edit | edit source]

  • SR Barrel: Enhances a weapon's barrel, creating greater gunfire velocity and impact.
  • SR Reinforced Barrel: Substantially increases damage, but at the cost of increased recoil.
  • SR Vented Barrel: Substantially increases damage, but at the cost of fire rate.

Receiver[edit | edit source]

  • SR Receiver: Capacitor boosts kinetic coil generators, increasing shot penetration through solid objects.
  • SR Calibrated Receiver: Allows shots to significantly penetrate solid objects, but reduces clip size.
  • SR Quick Receiver: Significantly increases penetration damage and distance, but reduces headshot/weak point damage.

The Kishock Harpoon Gun, Naladen, and Shadow cannot be equipped with a receiver.

An equipped receiver mod changes the color of parts of a weapon, darker or lighter depending on the weapon.

Clip[edit | edit source]

  • SR Spare Thermal Clip: Adds sockets to increase thermal clip capacity, increasing number of spare shots.
  • SR Heavy Spare Clip: Substantially increases spare ammo, but at the cost of increased weapon weight.
  • SR Light Spare Clip: Substantially increases spare ammo, but at the cost of accuracy.

The Inferno and Shadow cannot be equipped with a spare clip.

Scope[edit | edit source]

  • SR Scope: Simple optical scope to enhance stability while zoomed. Also increase accuracy while moving.
  • SR Recon Scope: Substantially increases accuracy, but at the cost of increased recoil.
  • SR Tactical Scope: Substantially increases accuracy, but at the cost of increased weight.

The Tier VIII SR Tactical Scope is marked as SR Tactical Scope IX, but can be distinguished from the real SR Tactical Scope IX by looking at the stats.

  • SR Ultra-Light Materials: Superior lightweight alloys replace weapon parts, making the weapon less obtrusive and easier to handle.
  • SR Experimental Materials: Substantially reduces weapon weight, but at the cost of increased recoil.
  • SR Latticed Materials: Substantially reduces weapon weight, but at the cost of decreased clip size.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Mods that increase or decrease weight are all percentage-based reductions. Depending upon the exact mod and weapon, some mods are close to the stated benefits/penalties, some are slightly lower or higher, and a few are not even close to the stated value.   • The multiplayer SR Barrel and SR Spare Thermal Clip can be purchased with the DLC Salarian Infiltrator Multiplayer Recruit Pack and Turian Soldier Multiplayer Recruit Pack.
  • The multiplayer stats shown are accurate as of Multiplayer Update - November 7, 2018.
  • Equipped items have a green check mark Equipped Item Icon.png.
  • Accuracy is a different weapon property than stability. The accuracy of a weapon will change the size of the aiming reticle. Stability reduces the kickback and rise of the weapon during firing.
